It was a lonely night and I was remembering back to my childhood days when Vernors flowed, with Salays bologna and Made Rite Potato Chips. Possibly even a Faygo Redpop, which I couldn't believe the last time I ran across it - it was a marked down soda. I remember Vernors Gingerale way back in the 1940's when I lived in Lakewood, Ohio. We would go to my Grandmother's in Toledo and she always had two or three cases in the pantry. Haven't seen it since I moved to MA many years ago. Last year I heard a neighbor talking of my old favorite and it brought back so many memories of the days when we visited my (Toledo Mama) as we called her. I wish I could find it close to me in MA. I love the great taste and would savor a bottle right now. If anyone knows where I could find it close to me, please do e mail me and let me know. I remember, as a young child, in Detroit drinking Vernor's and remember how it tickled the nose. When we moved to California in 1961 and years later when it was first available it had that great taste and that 'tickles my nose' feeling to go along with it. Vernor's then disappeared for several years in California and when it reappeared it had lost that tickle the nose feeling and the taste wasn't as strong. I love the Diet Vernor's now but still miss the original old taste. - Thomas
